High-voltage line Kurzeme Ring
The reconstruction of the high voltage line Kurzeme Ring is the most ambitious energy infrastructure project in the history of Latvia. The construction of the 330 kV line in Latvia is part of the NordBalt project, the implementation of which has already resulted in the construction of Lithuania-Sweden interconnector, as well as the reinforcement of the electricity transmission network of Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden, in order to improve the security of the entire Baltic energy supply. In 2012 – 2014 a 32-kilometer long high-voltage line in section Grobina – Aizpute was constructed. Until 2019, the development of the Kurzeme Ring stage 3 in the Ventspils – Tume – Riga section will continue.
